Thank you! The bakery at the Boardwalk tip is wonderful! We are DVC too, but home is Bay Lake Tower. It's just me and my husband this trip so w are staying in a deluxe studio - so not much in the way of a kitchen, LOL

We have breakfast at Cape May Cafe on our last day!

Honestly - it's the best place ever! We go to Disney every year [we're from the UK] and we choose the beach club villas each time due to us being DVC members but we would have it no other way! I recommend for a breakfast, have a quick walk to the boardwalk bakery - great pastries :) But I have never found anything to fault with the beach club, food is great [cape may cafe!, very clean, friendly staff etc] For my family, it's a home from home and we can't wait to visit again in July! Have a wonderful and magical time :)

Lisa .. don't beat yourself up over it !! They'll be fine and you'll be fine. I've done it 3 times without the twins and at first I was like "why did I DO this ??" but then once I got there and was able to just go and do what I wanted .. it was SO much fun !! It's SO different when you don't have to deal with the young ones .. and everyone knows how crazy I am about my BOYS !!

GO .. Have fun .. you deserve it !

Honestly I have read mixed reviews - which is why I was hesitant to change from AKL - Jambo House (with a savanna view) to BCV. BUT....we wanted to stay somewhere we've never stayed before so we shall see!

What a beautiful picture of Heather and Gene. I feel like it was such a blessing that she got to spend some of her last days in a place she loved so much.
I'm happy for you and CJ to have this special trip coming up ! You two certainly deserve it.
Hopefully the new year will bring a new job for CJ !

That's a neat idea Jeff! Our boys have bunk beds but with the ladder - we bought those. My husband built our daughter a 'bunk bed' but no bed underneath, just room for storage. However, she has a slide, no ladder!

We have bunk beds for our kids, but we have something different. They make a style that has stairs at the end of the bead instead of the ladder. Under the stairs are storage drawers, so no spaces is wasted. It alleviated to worries of having a kid fall or play on the ladder.

Agreed - the food is OK, but he characters are great. We make sure we book this character meal every time we go down. It is so nice and simple, and is a bit relaxing with the family style meal approach.

We are usually a family of 6 because we often take my mother in law; this is once reason why we decided DVC was the beast fit for us.

We have 3 kids (ages 4, 6, and 8) so staying at the parks all day never happens! The time wasted and the aggravation of dealing with the buses is something I just prefer not to have to deal with.

Wanting to stay extra days was the reason we stayed at ASMo - but quickly realized the location just didn't work well for us.

Change that 5 people to 6 and options become much more limited. For instance, nov 26-dec 22 ASMu family suite is 215/weekday and 235/weekend. Next closest is ft. wilderness cabin at 305/315 (weekday/weekend). Moving into any of the villas to fit 6 is $630 at the same time. 2 rooms at a port orleans (moderate) is $328. After crunching the numbers on just about every option to fit 6 people, an ASMu family suite worked out the cheapest and for us where we are at the parks from open to close, it is worth staying an extra couple of days than staying at a more expensive hotel.

I was wondering how you all stayed in a value room. I had no idea you had to book 2 rooms. Those rooms are SO tiny .. it's barely enough room for me and my boys .. but we spend so little time there, it doesn't really matter.
I'd love to stay at a better resort some day though .. there are some gorgeous ones that look like so much fun to stay at !
