Bunk beds for kids are one of the most popular features in a child’s bedroom. These beds are designed to entertain kids as well as being a place to sleep. Many kids are not always happy about going to bed when they should. However, the novelty factor of kids’ bunk beds means that many can’t get to bed fast enough. This is especially true for themed bunk beds that kids love.
However, they can be expensive and there are factors you should consider before you decide to buy one of these beds.
Comfort
As mentioned earlier, many bunk beds have a theme and look great. However, when it comes to buying a bed don’t swap style for substance. Make sure you’re buying from a reputable manufacturer and the bed is not uncomfortable to sleep in. The majority of bunk beds are made from wood or metal. Wooden bunk beds are heavier and sturdy. Metal beds on the other hand are lighter, but are easier to keep tidy.
Price
Any purchase you make often depends on the price of the product you’re buying. Bunk beds for kids can be expensive, so it pays to shop around. You can easily compare prices online or at your local furniture and bed stores.
Space
Find out how much space you can allocate to this product. This is especially important in smaller homes and apartments where space is at a premium. Once you know how much space is available, you then have to find out the dimensions of suitable bunk beds for your child’s room.
Guarantees and customer support
Bunk beds often cost a lot of money. If anything goes wrong with the bed you buy, you want to be sure that the supplier gives you a guarantee and that help is at hand if any problems occur.
Safety
A major concern of most parents is their child’s safety, especially when it comes to products like this. Get as many recommendations and reviews as possible about kids bunk beds before making a decision to buy one. Make sure it’s sturdy, well build and that there are no potential hazards.
When you buy a bunk bed, it’s a product you’re child will sleep in for many years and even hand down to younger family members in the future. This means you should do as much research as possible before you buy bunk beds for kids

We have bunk beds for our kids, but we have something different. They make a style that has stairs at the end of the bead instead of the ladder. Under the stairs are storage drawers, so no spaces is wasted. It alleviated to worries of having a kid fall or play on the ladder.
That's a neat idea Jeff! Our boys have bunk beds but with the ladder - we bought those. My husband built our daughter a 'bunk bed' but no bed underneath, just room for storage. However, she has a slide, no ladder!
