Going to Disney World Kid Free

Sunday, August 15, 2010
I am not referring to people who do not have kids or whose children are now all grown up; I am referring to those of us who have children yet would love a trip to Disney sans the kids.

CJ and I have talked about how we would LOVE to got to WDW, just the 2 of us; but *I* don't think I could. I would feel so guilty leaving the kids knowing we were off to Disney.

There is no doubt that there's a ton of stuff for adults to do in WDW and there are so many romantic places as well.

I just let 'mommy guilt' get the best of me. CJ doesn't think there's any difference if we'd be going to the shore alone or WDW...alone is alone. I feel differently.

I HAVE gone without the kids .. and it was GREAT ! Frank and I did it when the boys were about 18 months old. We needed a getaway and we had a willing sitter .. so off we went ! We didn't stay a whole week .. it was just a long weened. I think we left of Wednesday and came back Monday .. but it was JUST enough time to enjoy. We rented a car and spent one day at the coast, sightseeing.
I think you should try it .. at least once .. don't feel guilty .. it's not like you don't ever plan on taking them back ! ;)

Ahhh, but the boys were only 18 months old and didn't really realize where you were! Our kids are 3, almost 5 and 7. I think it would break their little hearts BUT we sooooo wanna go. I don't want to wait until they're teens to go w/o them! I'm so conflicted!

True .. they might be mad at me knowing where I was going. But I'd still do it if I wanted to. :-P
Have you tried talking to the older ones about it ? Maybe explain that you and CJ just want to go down there once by yourselves so you can do grown up things. Orrrr .. you could just not tell them where you're going .. lol

My sister and I go once every three years just the two of us - no husbands, no kids. Can I just tell you how amazing that is??? Most other vacationers look at us like we're crazy but WDW was a favorite vacation spot as kids and so it is still amazing to go as adults!
