Walt Disney World Vacation '09 - Day 8 - Leaving

Saturday, August 15, 2009
We were up early and grabbed a bite to eat for breakfast. CJ, in his infinite wisdom, (I love you, honey!) decided he didn't need no stinking bellhop to help us carry bags to our car, so there he was dragging suitcases and bags of stuff, as well as the kids trying to help and of course I was lugging my fair share too. Then it happened - he lost a few pieces of luggage...not along the walkway of the Polynesian, nooooo, as he was crossing the street to the parking lot! Yup, I laughed my as off!

We got everything to the car and then headed back to the Great Ceremonial house to check out. After checking out and several trips to the bathroom, we finally said our goodbyes. Fawn had to wait for the Magical Express to take her to the airport, so we got one last photo before we parted ways.

They look so happy, don't they? Hahaha:

Of course there had to be one more issue before getting on the road...our car battery was dead! Yup, our Honda Pilot would turn on and the radio would come on but that was it. Here, we realized one of the interior lights stayed on, so it was obviously on the entire time the vehicle sat in the parking lot. CJ went and got a security guard who had a portable battery and jumper cables to give the Honda a jump. He told us this happens a lot!

After that last little bit of stress, we were finally on our way. The ride was uneventful, thank the Gods. The kids slept for most of the ride, I am sure the week completely wore them out.

Wyatt as we headed out:

Olivia sleeping and Wyatt being silly with a blanket (Dante was there too - didn't forget him, you just can't see him!):

We stopped often and finally decided to stay in Virginia - it began storming and it was night time, so we thought that was a good time to stop. We made it home the next day in the afternoon, safe and sound.

That day, I began planning our next trip for 2010 - as Disney Vacation Club members! Stay tuned!
