We left the Magic Kingdom early, which was such a disappointment because I knew we'd never get back there to see fireworks. At that point I had hoped we could all go down to the beach and watch them from there at least.
Now, I know it's taken me a while to update this whole saga and I'm sorry. Life is busy, yanno? With that in mind, the details of that evening are a bit fuzzy. I know we ate dinner in the room and that's about all I remember. I didn't take any pictures after we left the park, so I have no photos to use for this update.
I can tell you that the boys went to bed and Livi stayed up so she could go to the beach with CJ and I to see the fireworks. No one else wanted to go. I am sure CJ's mom would have liked to go but she stayed in the room with the boys, so, thank you so much, I know you're reading this!
CJ took video of the fireworks. It's a 10 minute video, so no, I didn't upload it here!
After the fireworks we took our time getting back to the room. Once we got back I could hear Wyatt crying a bit and CJ's mom said he was up off and on constantly with that cough he had. I got him to go back to sleep. I took Livi over to my mom and grandma's room and here is where it all goes downhill, if that's even possible...to go even more downhill...
My grandma had just gotten out of the shower and she was feeling out of breath. Now, she had said she didn't feel that great the day before and had taken some aspirin that night (Wednesday night) because she felt warm. She figured she was getting a cold. After all, Wyatt and Dante and Olivia all had coughs going on and my mom actually woke up Thursday morning with a seriously sore throat. Great, huh?
Well, grandma was wheezing and couldn't catch her breath. She's 85 years old. I was suddenly feeling panicked. My mom called 911 because we were both VERY concerned. This was no cold, the woman was having distress. I felt so bad for my grandma. She was so upset. I can't imagine how she felt. On vacation and having this happen. We all felt this was going to be grandma's last vacation, merely because of her age, not her health. She was always in good health, so this was not the norm for her, which is what scared us. Last vacation and it goes like this?
The first people to respond were the lifeguards. My mom thought that was odd, but I told her it made sense. They were trained in the basics. They were there extremely fast and were very nice and very thorough. Then there was Bob, the security guy on duty, who looked to be about my grandma's age, LOL. The ambulance showed up in a short amount of time and I swear, there were about 10 people in that room by this time. They sure don't mess around.
To be continued...
