Walt Disney World Vacation '08 - Day 3 Part 6

Wednesday, May 28, 2008
We had an uneventful bus ride back to the Polynesian Resort from Animal Kingdom. No one was really hungry so we all just headed to our rooms. CJ and I went to Captain Cooks then to get something for the kids to eat and brought it back to the room for them.
While eating and relaxing in the room, CJ and I decide that it's best if we skip Hollywood Studios, which was the original plan for Thursday. Yes, we really wanted to go and yes there are things for kids to see and do BUT, considering the chaotic week we were already having, we both decided it was best to just relax and let the kids lead, in a way. I mean, of course we were there to visit parks and experience things but it was obvious our children were over stimulated and over tired most of the time and it seemed as though the most fun they were having was at the pool!
Thursday morning we had reservations for 8 am at Ohana's for a character breakfast. We figured after breakfast we'd just relax. Maybe go to the pool. I noticed the Magic Kingdom had extra magic hours that night and I was hoping we could possibly go to the MK in the early evening and catch the Wishes Fireworks show. I hoped the kids would be well rested and refreshed and therefore would have no problem staying later at the park.
So, that was the plan.
After eating and relaxing, everyone kind of crashed. By about 8pm or so the kids were all in bed for the night. CJ and I decided we wanted to go to the beach for a while and just be alone. His mom had no objections and so we headed out.
HOLY CRAP...we actually stepped out of the resort room ALONE! We headed to the beach but to a much more secluded part. We watched the ferry boat go back and forth between the resort dock and the MK.

Sounds like a nice night until...lol...you KNEW there'd be something, c'mon, this was MY Disney trip! LOL The fireworks start. Now, we could see the castle perfectly from where we were but the fireworks were on the lagoon this time and all we could see were the tips of them from above the trees, way over to our left. Hahahaaaaa, figures!!!
We get up and make our way to the *main* part of the beach, which is right by the big pool and Captain Cooks. We got to see the end of the show. Oh well. We head in to Captain Cooks and get a refill on drinks. (If you buy a souvenir mug at a resort, you get free refills then!) and shared a brownie. Awww, how nice.
Pathetically, we were both so.freaking.tired. so we decided to head back to the room. How sad is that? We finally get alone time and we haven't a clue what to do with ourselves and we're dead tired. Okay, it was late at night and we did have a busy day but still.
We went to bed and all night Wyatt was up off and on with this terrible cough. I was worried I was going to have a sick baby on my hands the next day.
Well, it wasn't my baby that wound up sick the next day but...

To be continued...
