Walt Disney World Vacation '08 - Day 3 Part 1

Saturday, May 24, 2008
Wednesday, May 14th:

After the previous day's events, CJ and I decided no more day long outings at any park, even if we're really not doing much. I mean, at Epcot we didn't do much at all. We basically wandered around and sat on benches most of the day but still, our kids were tired. Normally Dante and Wyatt nap every day and Livi does too sometimes so we figured we were going to make them nap from now on.
This day we planned on going to Animal Kingdom. We also had an early dinner reservation, (4:50 pm) at Boma, which I was looking forward to. Originally, I figured we'd spend the morning/early afternoon at the park and then try and catch the 4 o'clock parade which was only supposed to be about 20 minutes. Then I thought we'd go to dinner and afterwards head back to the resort.
Now, those of you who have been to AK may have already realized I was making a huge mistake. Well, it's about to get worse. I keep saying that but it is true!
We decided to spend the morning at the quiet pool and have the kids nap around 11am, then go to AK around 1pm. No, we wouldn't get to be there as long but from what I could tell, AK consisted of a lot of walking type activities and considering the crew I was with, I knew we wouldn't be doing any of that. Yea, I just made the mistake of the day! Heh, it seemed like a good idea...
Here's CJ attempting to blow up a Nemo flotation device:
Grandma didn't go swimming:
Wyatt was not fond of the pool that day:

Here we are, blissfully unaware of the craptastic day ahead:

We all enjoyed this down time and I was feeling so much better about the vacation. I was feeling as if things were turning around. They weren't, they were on their way to turning upside down.

To be continued...
