Walt Disney World Vacation '08 - Day 2 Part 1

Thursday, May 22, 2008
Tuesday, May 13th:
I was really hoping that a new day would bring better times. Maybe the stress from the day before was just due to all of us adjusting to our new surroundings and the kids were just in some sort of *fun overload* but no such luck. This day will turn out worse than the day before, I just didn't know it when I woke up.
Tuesday was Epcot day. My *plan* was to make it to Norway for our 9am reservation at Akershus for the Princess breakfast. I thought after breakfast we'd just leisurely tour parts of Epcot. I was hoping to pass through each country but with granny on the scooter and mother hobbling around, I figured that was unlikely. I thought we'd leave Epcot around noon or so and go back to the resort to relax. Maybe swim for a bit or let the kids nap. We had dinner reservations at 6pm in Canada at Le Cellier Steakhouse and from everything I had heard about that place, I was super excited to eat there. That was the ONE PLACE I wanted to eat, hands down. Sounds like a relaxing well planned out day, doesn't it? Hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Yea, let's start the day with the SAME ARGUMENT as the day before...where to get the damn monorail.
*I* said at the TTC since we can walk there and get there in the same amount of time as we could get to the Great Ceremonial House. You get the monorail FOR Epcot AT the TTC!!!!!!
Ohhh noooooooo, mom decided she didn't like the walk to the TTC from our Longhouse and that it'd be easier to get on the monorail from the Polynesian, make all the damn stops, get off at the TTC and then get that monorail to Epcot.
I say...what the fuck??????!!!!!! To avoid a serious blowout, we did not go our separate ways and got the monorail at the Poly. Anyone who is reading this who has been to Disney and is familiar with the locations I am talking about knows this was not a good idea.
I bet you can guess what happened? Oh yea...it took FOREVER to get to Epcot. We didn't get there until 9:30am and our reservations were for 9am!! Cripes. I got off the monorail and was just going to give up, screw it, we missed our reservations. Everyone else wanted to head to Norway anyway and just see if we'd still get seated. Okay, why not, right?
Thank the Goddess our reservations were in Norway because it's not too far a walk from the main entrance to Epcot.
Hahaha...Here's part of the map....I lined out where we had to go:

Yea, that was a fun walk! We got there eventually, close to 10am. I gave my name and surprisingly, once again, Disney magick came through because they told us they could seat us. So, we waited. While we waited, we saw Mary Poppins! She was very cool and had that accent perfect! She signed Livi's autograph book and carried on a brief conversation with her, which was nice.

Here are the photos:

We didn't wait too long to be seated. First thing's first though, a photo with Belle. Livi wanted me in the photo and I obliged however I can't bring myself to post it here. CJ says I look like I'm pinching a loaf in the picture...LOL

Oh hell, screw it...Laugh your asses off people!
Okay, so after that painful moment, we get seated.

To be continued...
