Walt Disney World Vacation '08 - Day 1 Part 1

Thursday, May 22, 2008
Monday, May 12th:
We all got up fairly early and I can't even remember if we had any breakfast that day. I think just something light from Captain Cook's. I know, I should have documented this while we were there but hell, I was on vacation!

CJ was enjoying the view from the balcony:

We all headed over to the Great Ceremonial House, which was about a 5 minute walk from the Longhouse we stayed in. Here's what the Longhouses look like from the outside:
View along our walk:

So we had to go to the lobby to pick up these damn scooters my mom and grandma had to have to be able to get around easier.
My grandma is going on 86 years old so of course she needed one and my mom got one and let me tell you, she could NOT drive the damn thing! I saw her back up and hit the wall behind her, she didn't think I saw, LOL. We all hung out in the lobby for a moment while those two got themselves situated.

As soon as everyone was ready we had to take the elevator to the second floor to catch the monorail to hitch a ride to the Magic Kingdom. That's when I saw my mom struggling to maneuver her scooter to get IN to the elevator. She just kept letting people get in ahead of her. Grandma had no trouble, so we all went up to the 2nd floor. We waited for mom on the 2nd floor. Elevator doors would open, no mom. Elevator doors would open again, no mom. Elevator doors would open, again, there was somebody's mom but not MY mom...Elevator doors open yet again, no mom. WTF?! Was she letting all the resort guests get on first?! FINALLY her scooter ass shows up! Sheesh!
We all get on the monorail, what a sight that was. Grandma again, had a pretty easy time getting herself on the monorail while on the scooter. Mom? Not so much. I wish we would have gotten pictures or video of that! LOL

Next stop, Magic Kingdom!
To be continued...
